I have often thought it was Robert's brother > William who married Patsey Moon. No, she married a William from Maryland. I really don't remember his middle name but the name was listed in records in both places. Everything is packed away, I'd have to do some digging to find out the documents. It was rather unusual because he used his full name often, probably to avoid confusion with other Williams. > > Do you know if Patsey and her husband lived in Lewis Co? They lived just over the line in Mason County. His brother was first school teacher in Lewis County which was part of Mason County when he first came. Evidently there were large tracts of land her father had received for Rev War service. They both are listed on the deed transfers of these lands when they were sold. Later, he and his brother moved south to live near Gideon Via.... And some of the records sign Gideon's last name as Vier. > > Judy > Sue
