She was 66 years old. She was born June 5, 1939 and a member of Gravely Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the daughter of the late Ernest H. and Edna Gravely Viars. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Viars and James Viars. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Tim Maynard Akers, Sr. of Max Meadows; two sons and daughter-in-law, Tim, Jr. and Rhonda Sheffey Akers, Michael Akers, all of Max Meadows; six grandchildren and spouses, Sally Barham and D.J. Cox of Cripple Creek, Heather and Jeremy Rooney, Tim, III and Amanda Akers, all of Max Meadows, Mary Lou Sheffey and Kayla Sheffey of Cripple Creek, Leslie Mills of Wytheville; eight greatgrandchildren, Cody Akers, Dylan Barham, Haleigh Cox, A.J. Sheffey, all of Cripple Creek, Lane Rooney, Madison Akers, both of Max Meadows, Ethan Mills and Taylor Mills of Wytheville; four sisters and spouses, Margar! et and Floyd Williams of Roanoke, Brenda and Fomoso Worrell of Elliston, Donna and Jay Worrell of Max Meadows, Frances Lawson of Dublin; two brothers and spouses, Larry and Kaye Viars of Max Meadows, Jerry and Joyce Viars of Austinville; one aunt, Virgie Gravely of Max Meadows. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Sanders Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home or at the residence at any time. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
