Born in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late James Harrison and Betty Lee Lester. She was a life-long resident of Buchanan County, was a member of Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church for 32 years and was a wonderful homemaker.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Viers was preceded in death by her husband: William Carson Viers, April 18, 1983; one sister: Alpha Stiltner; two brothers: Ferrell and Burlin Lester and one infant brother: Ira Lester.She was survived by: One daughter: Paulette and husband Paul Sullivan of Vansant; one stepson: Bobby Earl Viers of Virginia; four sisters: Liz Compton of Vermillion, Ohio, Okie Owens of Cleo, Mich., Joyce Sykes of Columbus, Ohio, Pam Mays of Abingdon, Va.; one brother: Jeff Lester of Grundy, Va.; two stepsisters: Shirley Stiltner of Wolford, Va. and Bertha Jean Tinsley of Cocoa, Fla.; three stepbrothers: Jerry Owens of Sandwich, Ill., Billy Owens of Harmon, Va., Doug Owens of Rogersville, Tenn. Also, survived by: Five ! special nieces: Peggy Cox, Kim Harmon, Trina England, Ashley Sykes and Brenda Lester; two special nephews: Bobby Sykes and Dalton Cox; two special sisters-in-law: Melba Lester and Gertrude Lester; and a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Julia Lester Viers will be conducted at noon Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at the Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church on the Leemaster Section of Vansant with Elders: Carson Wright, Jerry Overstreet, Frank O'Quinn, Roger Coleman, Mark Justice and Howard Daniels officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va.Friends may call at the Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church today at noon with services today and Thursday at 7 p.m. Active pallbearers will be: Dale Cox, Dalton Cox, Danny Stiltner, Neil Harmon, Henry Stiltner, Sammy Stiltner, Raymond Webb, Jeff Lester and Billy Owens.Honorary pallbearers will be: Brothers of Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church.Online condolences may be sent to the fa! mily at www.grundyfuneralhome.com
