I have a copy of this hand written will by John Via b abt 1710 and his signature reads John Via. All his children should have been born with Via as last name regardless of how the name was altered later by these sons or record keepers. My father was a Vier. His marriage record reads Viers. I have been a Viers for over 76 years. I sold an insurance policy to a lady long ago. She had 8 children by 8 differant husbands and her name at the time was not the same as any of the children.
