3. Yes, the Frances who married David Via and John Edey is Frances Stringer, daughter of Edward Stringer and Frances Blackstone. The last document I have found with the name of Frances Blackstone Stringer is a 1752 Fredericksville Parish, Louisa Co, VA deed of gift in which Frances (the mother) released her dower. He married second Judah "Judy or Judith" (surname unproven). I am a descendant of Edward Stringer. Edward, 2nd wife and some children left VA and went to Caswell Co NC before he died. Frances who was married to David Via, by the date of this will, 1778, was then married to John Eddy, so would have been Frances Eddy. Is it certain that Frances was a Stringer? Edward Stringer names Sarah Campbell in his 10 March 1778 (probate June Court 1799) Caswell County, NC will -- "Stringer, Edward, Judah (wife); Edmond, Limeledge, Mary Ann, James and William (children); Agnes Whitlock, Fanny Sutherland, Lucy Browning, Tabitha Peed, Sarah Campbell and Frances Vier (daughters)" [abstract from Olds, "North Carolina Wills" page 54] ~*~*~*~ Edna Barney
