Martha Jane Viars, Duncan 87 yrs., of 3006 Honaker Rd. Draper, passed away Monday evening, Jan 15-2001 at Birdmont Manor - Asbury Center, Wytheville. Born - 6-29-1913 in Wythe Co. She was the daughter of the late James Viars & Rosetta Peak Viars. One sister, Maudie Viars & five brothers, Harless, Erving, Sprail, Monroe, Bert, & Jim Viars preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Ellis Duncan of Draper; daughter Mrs. Carl (Linda) Tucker of Lexington, N.C. Mrs. Clarence (Velva) Penell of Mansfield, Ohio; Son, Rev. John Douglas Duncan of Barren springs; And several grandchildren & great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bower Funeral home chapel. Pulaski with the Rev. H.T. & Betty Atkinson officiating interment will follow at the Memorial Christian church cemetery. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. Wed. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wed. evening at Bower Funeral chapel. Bower Funeral Chap! el, Pulaski is handing the arrangements.
