    3. B. W. Via Passes Away At Wylie Funeral services for B. W. Via, a former resident of Wills Point and vicinity for many years, were held at the Baptist church of Wylie Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Brooks, Rev. Nance and Rev. Argus Burnett. Mr. Via passed away Feb. 4, 1948 at his home in Wylie following a long and serious illness. He was born Aug. 9, 1876, in Tennessee. He became a member of the Baptist church as a young man, never failing to carry out his duties as a Christian to the best of his ability. Mr. Via was united in marriage to Onie Ashman in Tennessee and later moved to Texas to make their home. Five children were born to this union. His wife preceded him in death in 1933. He was married to Bell Lokie of Wylie in 1939 and to them one child was born. In his tribute to the deceased, Rev. Burnett stated that, as his father's dearest friend, he knew Mr. Via as a kind, considerate and unselfish man. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Bill Smith and Erma Sue Via of Wylie, and Mrs. Else Lasater; two sons, Herman Via of Rusk and Ernest Via of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Charlie Dewiit of Dublin, Mrs. Tom Huckabee of Jarrell and Mrs. S. D. Ewalt; two brothers, J. R. Via of Woodward, Okla., and N. W. Via; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. One daughter, Mrs. R. C. Deen, preceded him in death in 1946. Pallbearers were his nephews, Ben, Arthur and Henry Ewalt, Robbie Alexander, C. C. Girdley and Billy Jack Swaner. Interment was in a Wylie cemetery. Those attending the service from here Mrs. Else Lasater, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Girdley, Mrs. S. D. Ewalt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ewalt, Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Alexander, and Irvin Burnett.
