First of all, thank you to all of you who kindly sent information on Samuel Thompson b. c. 1740 Chester Co., PA? m. Phebe Allen and lived in Orange co., NC. and also information on the family of his daugher Amy Thompson who married Thomas Vestal. I have found a couple living in Orange Co., NC who may be his parents depending on their approximate dates: Benjamin Thompson b. c. 1714, m. Sarah Anderson. Possible children Robert Thompson Richard Thompson Samuel Thompson Stephen Thompson Frances Thompson LDS records suggest the couple was married about 1738 but the Children are variously listed as born from 1739 to 1747 or 1771- 1778. Also Benjamin above is also listed as the son of Samuel Thompson and Hannah Lathrop of Farmington, Hartford Co., CT Any help or clarification on these Thompsons would be appreciated. For those of you knowledgeable of the Vestals: The list of children for Amy Thompson m. Thomas Vestal includes 10 children but I have a son named Jeremiah and others have a daughter named Jemima?? Which is right? My ancestor David Vestal, born 2 Jan 1788, Surry Co., NC had a twin brother, John and an elder brother William and a younger sister, Rachel which makes it look like he is possibly from this family--except no David is ever listed. Has any will for Thomas and Amy Thompson Vestal ever been found? I do know that Rachel Vestal of this family moved to Indiana and my ancestor David also lived and died in Indiana. Anyone with any exact dates for any of the children of Thomas and Amy Vestal or any offspring of the above Thompson couples, could you please share those so I can eliminate possibilities.
