    1. [VESTAL-L] Vestals
    2. Hey Janet What proof is there that William Vestal (1752) is the father of William Samuel Vestal. If there is proof of the 1752 then this mystery is at an end.The only William that can fit into that time frame is William Vestal the son of John Vestal and Hannah Ann Potts. This Williams descendants are unknown. Here is my reasoning William Vestal and Alice Glover started the Line. All Vestals descend from these two. There has never been any evidence to refute this.William and Alice had 4 children.2 boy (William and George) and 2 girls.George died young,William was their only male child to have offspring.William married Elizabeth Mercer on Sept 9,1716.She was his only wife. They had 8 children (5 sons). John ,William,Thomas,James Sr. and David Anthony. William (b.1723) did not marry until 1773. You can rule him out.He had no children. His Will backs this up. Thomas (b.1727) had a son named William who was born in Nov 1759.This William married Mary Wheeler. This line is well documented. Thomas's will names his children. James Sr. (b.1730) had a son named William who was born in 1759.This William married Sarah Chamness Vestal. This line is very well documented. David Anthony (b.1736) did not have a William and did not get married until 1759 anyway. John Vestal married Ann Potts Dec.1748.Their son William was born around 1750,exact date unknown. There are not anymore places that a William can come from in this time frame. All the rest are accounted for. If the 1752 birth date for William can be proved and that William Samuel Vestal's father was a William, then John and Ann win by default as the grandparents of William Samuel Vestal.Anyway, what do you think???? Tony
