Hi cousin-Your cousin Harold Paul RAYNER, b. 16 Jan, 1945, Phoenix, AZ is gr grandson to Martha(Mattie) Frances VESTAL, b.ca. 1873,(we need her birthdate)Shasta Co., CA. Do you know if she too was born in Pleasant Grove, or was it Pittville? We know she d. 29 Dec, 1930, Sanger, Fresno Co., CA Mattie m. John(Jack)Samuel SYKES and they had Geneva(Nieva)Iola SYKES who m. Frank Edward RAYNER SR and they had Frank Edward RAYNER Jr, who is 73, and lives in Big Bend, Shasta Co,CA, on part of his original homestead there, and he is Harold's dad. Harold and I live in rural MT and have a small ranch and raise beef cows and hay and our own vegetables. I have a photocopy of THE VESTALS OF FALL RIVER VALLEY by Frances A. Gassaway, from Shasta Co. Library, and some other copies of the lineage and story of VESTAL's. The data enables us to go back on my husband's direct line back to Eng, with some holes in the lineages. I wondered if you had found anymore data out on the trip William A. VESTAL made on the covered wagon train in 9 Oct, 1851, and the story of the rest of the family coming in 1852 in oxen train to Yuba City CA.
