Sarah Chamness b.1740/41 (The daughter of Anthony Chamness and Sarah Cole ) was married to David Anthony Vestal b. 1736 (The son of William Vestal II and Elizabeth Mercer ).David Vestal and Sarah Chamness had a daughter whose name was Sarah Chamness Vestal.Sarah Chamness Vestal married her 1st cousin Captain William Vestal (The son Of James Vestal Sr. and Mary Jay (( Mary Jay being accepted as the wife of James Vestal Sr. by most Vestal researchers although this can not be proven.)) The Chamness as a middle name throws some people off. As to your line,Easter Moore who married William Vestal is where the problem come in.I cannot find proof of who Williams father was.Thomas Vestal and Elizabeth Davis had a son named William Vestal who married Mary Wheeler.They in turn had a son named William W. Vestal who married Elizabeth Newby.(This is listed in Quaker records).I have only one child listed from this union and that is Rachel C. Vestal. Captain William Vestal and Sarah Chamness Vestal (1st cousins) had a son named William Vestal who married (1st) Unk. Caudle, (2nd) Rachel Dougan and (3rd) Rebecca Benge.William Vestal and Rachel Dougan had a son named William who married Sarah Ann Hood and (2nd) Susan Armstrong Steele.In letters published by Susan Steele she states that Williams grandparents were Captain William Vestal and Sarah Chanmess Vestal.However,this is not accepted by all Vestal researches as proof.Are you really confused now?
