He died in Dallas, Texas June 6, 1960. Neither his father nor mother are shown on the death certificate.He was married to Goodie Gaddis who was from Kentucky. Their children were: Clarence Vestal b: 8/11/1896; Ida Vestal b: 2/5/1900; Charles Vestal b: 11/6/1901; Edith Vestal b: 1/10/1905; William Dugan Vestal b: 12/18/1907; Birdie Vestal b: 1/21/1909; David Vestal b: 6/16/1912; Cecil Jackson Vestal b: 8/14/1913); Mary Lou Vestal b: 5/26/1919; Mildred Vestal b: 1922. All were born in Dallas, Texas.
