This is my first time on and I want to include our family line beginning with William S. Vestal. We are trying to find his ancestors and have not been able to do this conclusively. The Putnam County MO Vestals are definitely our line, and would like to start up a dialog with anyone who can connect to it. Since I am so unfamiliar with using this net, I will close for now, and hope to hear from somebody soon. Below is the information that we have so far. Oh, by the way, it is my husband, Austin Lavern Vestal who is the direct descendent of William S. Vestal. WILLIAM S. VESTAL was born in 1826 somewhere in Kentucky. He died on 17 Nov 1903 in Putnam County MO, at the age of 79y, 4m, and is buried in the Rose Cemetery near Graysville MO. He was married on 9 Nov 1844 in Macon County MO to Charlotte Branscomb (born 1831), d 1880, buried in the Rose Cemetery. Second wife of William S. Vestal is Martha J. Vestal, b 11 Jan 1835, d 3 Apr 1911, buried in Martinstown Cemetery MO. Charlotte and her sister, Malinda (born 1826) were born in Wayne County KY. Their father and mother were HENRY BRANSCOMB (b 1804 in VA, d (unk) and buried in Rose Cemetery), and ELIZABETH BURRES (b 1809 in VA, d 10 Jan 1898,) buried in Pleasant Home Cemetery in Martinstown, MO.) Henrys father was JOHN BRANSCOMB (b about 1760 in VA) and mother, OLIVE (maiden name unknown.) Little is known about William except that it is presumed that he has a brother, David, who also married a BRANSCOMB, Malinda, sister of Charlotte, on 23 Dec 1842. WILLIAM S.
