Thomas Dougan and Hester Kimbrough are the grandparents of William Dougan Vestal on his mother's side. His mother was Rachel Dougan. She was born 1810 in Franklin County Tennessee and died 1830 Dyer County Tennessee. It is not yet known who the grandparents are on his father side. William Vestal Sr. married Rachel Dougan about 1826 in Tennessee. William Dougan Vestal is a half brother to my Thomas Vestal. Thomas is the oldest of Willliam Sr.'s children from his first wife who is unknown at the moment. Sarah Ann Hood was William Dougan Vestal's first wife. She is the daughter of Humphrey Hood and Sarah Truesdale. William Dougan married a second wife named Susan Armstrong Steele. She was the daughter of Robert Steele and Elvira Foley. Susan was married to Samuel W. Hardin first. He died the 18th of September, 1865. They had a 4 children, one of whom was named John Weslie Hardin who died at a young age.
