Dear List Members: I would like to suggest that we form a “research committee” to try to find more information on William Vestal (husband of Alice Glover) and his parents and pool our resources and efforts to this end. (Also, Gilbert Cope suggested that William Vestal had been married prior to his marriage to Alice. I have not seen any evidence to suggest it, but he was a major genealogist and I’m not.) Here is another suggestion but perhaps we could: a.) list our subject line as “William’s parents” to differentiate from other e-mail on this Vestal list. b.) list sources we have looked at with or without success c.) suggest sources d.) offer to research these sources if we live near a major library or have access to a particular source material. I think your idea great even a discussion on the list about why we feel that a ancestor is or is not the correct one.
