When William Vestal (II) died in 1745 in Frederick Co., Va., Elizabeth moved with her family ca 1750 to the area that was to become known as the Cane Creek MM around Snow Camp in NC. Can anyone answer any of these questions?: 1.) Did Elizabeth acquire land in NC? 2.) Does anyone have a death date for Elizabeth and if so, what is source? 3.) William & Elizabeth's children seemed to have owned land on the Rocky River. Would the current town of Goldston (on Rte 421 SE of Raleigh) be the closest town to the location of this land? Thanks for any help. Willie Krug
Hello willie I read from a history book years ago an artical about Elizabeth Vestal and four of her sons I will try to relate it as best I can I have a few notes I do not remember the name of the book it stated that Elizabeth and four of her sons migrated to NC. I believe the artical mentioned James ,Thomas David and William it did not mention John or any of the sisters I think that John stayed on the family ironworks in va and the sisters bably probably not viewed as important enough to mention the article stated that Elizabeth sttled on a large Granville plot it further stated t hat they either built a church or donated land for a church. I think on the Rocky river I recieved a type written note from a Friends Historical library ( I had written for info ) They Elizabeth Vestal and sons William and Thomas were granted a certificate by hopewell MM in NC on apr 1 ,1751 and were recieved at cane Creek MM on Dec 7, 1751 Pat Perkins [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: Willie Krug <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2000 6:54 PM Subject: [VESTAL-L] Elizabeth Mercer Vestal > When William Vestal (II) died in 1745 in Frederick Co., Va., Elizabeth moved > with her family ca 1750 to the area that was to become known as the Cane > Creek MM around Snow Camp in NC. > > Can anyone answer any of these questions?: > 1.)
