>It has been a busy week with all the action on the Vestal site. I have not >been able to absorb all the data, but it has inspired me to really start >looking hard on my Vestal line. My great grandfather was Madison Vestal born >in Illinios. So I started going through all the counties in Illinois using >the Censuslink site. Vestal age 1 born: Illinios > >Madison married Julia Lavina Green and they moved to Kansas where thrir >children were born. Later they sold the farm and moved to San diego County, >Californis where I found them in the 1920 census. At present I am looking for >them there. If anyone can connect with the additions I have just found, >please let me know. > >Thanks to all for a great week of Vestals. > >Wes Leiser >Sunnyvale, California > >______________________________ Wes I believe your J. H. Vestal is Jonathan Hamilton Vestal, son of Joseph Vestal (b. 7 Sep 17720 and Elizabeth Hamilton, son of David Anthony Vestal and Sarah Cole Chamness, son of William Vestal and Elizabeth Mercer [widow of Joseph Woodward]. Jonathan H. Vestal is in the 1850 Winnebago Co., IL census next to Ogle County where you found him in 1860. I suspect this is your connection--at least it is a place to investigate. Tom Rea
