Diane, I am a descendant of Alexander A. Vestal b. 1837. He was only married twice. First to Sarah Mae Fortson b. 1847, She died during child birth in 1878. Then second he married Sarah Thompson Cagle. There was no Bacon. Sally Fortson's sister married a Bacon and my great uncle thought Sally's maiden name was Bacon. Sorry , for the confusion.
