This is a reply to Rasberry. I'm trying not to get too excited, but your Vestal is the closest I've come to my line in a long time! My ancestor Henry Vestal was born 1860 in Yadkin Co, NC. (he married Laura Seymour and some of their children moved to Warren Co Indiana) His marriage record to Laura listed his parents as Sal S and Caroline Vestal. The handwriting was hard to read and I guessed Sal was probably Solomon. This could very well be your Solomon and Caroline. Where did you find them? The Pendry name sounds familiar too.
