Message #1 was in regards to Thomas and Rachel G. Vestal of Lamar Co., Texas. I am descended from them through their daughter Rachel Vestal who married Jacob Newton Cook in about 1883 in Lamar Co., Tx. I knew that Thomas and Rachel were buried in the Caviness Cemetery but had no idea that her maiden name could have been Caveness. Rachel Vestal Cook was born abt 1861 in Lamar Co., Tx and died abt 1891 in Hunt County, Texas when my grandmother was abt 4-5 years old. I have Radhel's portrait and she was a very pretty lady. I would love to hear from others who may have info regarding these Vestals.
