Allen, My GGGgrandmother was Sarah A Vestal b:1796 in either Holly Springs, Wade (sic) County, NC or Holly Springs MM, m: Nov 11, 1812 to Benjamin Hinshaw in Surry County, NC and died in 1860 in Cass County, Mo. There is no Wade County in NC but we do have a Wake County. I have her parents as Unk Vestal b:1770 and Elizabeth Unknown b:1772 both in Holly Springs. I would like to know what proof there is that the father of William Vestal that Married Alice Glover is Major William Vestal and his father was William Vestal that married Anna King? Everybody seems to have that info but nobody can give any proof. Has this just been taken as fact because it has been said so many times or does anyone have documentation. When I talked to Eunice Vestal, she said there has never been anything proven, she said that she has been to England and never found anything. If anyone can enlighten me please do. I think that two brothers came over from England, one died on the trip. William had two sons. Of his grandsons, three moved to NC. ( I am quoting this from memory, I can look it up later and give you the names.). Another cousin had the story of three Vestal brothers coming over from Germany.
