    3. Hi List, I read the manuscript by John Vestal Jr and found it very interesting. How wonderful when our ancestors leave something of this nature. I notice that John mentions an uncle named Zimri Vestal who went to Texas. I am almost sure then that Zimri ended up in Lamar County, TX. In an 1846 Texas poll tax list it list a Zimuel Vestal in Lamar County. Also in Lamar County was Jacob or Joab Vestal (this is my line). I am not sure what happened to Zimri, but Jacob ends up on the 1850 Lamar County TX Mortality schedule. His widow is in the 1850 census. In 1840 Joab and Z. Vestal are in Benton County AR. I see that Zimri married Mary Brownfield in Hendricks county IN. In 1870 Lamar County there is a William B Vestal and in his house in Mary Vestal 62 and born in IN. This william on this census is 26 and born in AR. I wonder if anyone was trying to reasearch this William B Vestal. If you are and stumped this may be your answer. This possibly could be widow and son of Zimri. I hope to eventually find how my line, Joab Vestal fits into the Vestal family. Good hunding, Ramona

    3. Hi, I am looking for for anyone with info on Joab or possibly Jacob Vestal who lived in Deleware County, IN. In 1830 census of Deleware County he was listed as Joab. He was also coroner for the county about this time. Wonder if he is son of David Vestal who lived in Randolph County IN a neighbor to Deleware Co. A possible sibling would be Juliann Vestal who married Jacob Coon in Deleware Co. Info says that Juliann was daug of David. Joab in 1840 is living in Benton Co Ark. With him in Benton County is Z. Vestal. Joab moved to Lamar Co TX and it seems died there under the name Jacob Vestal. He is in the 1850 mortality schedule of Lamar Co. The mortality scedule shows him to be 42 and that hie died in June. In 1850 census is Sophronia Vestal (his widow) and family. One daug who is 10 years old gives birthplace as Ark. That is how we know they were in Ark. Sophronia (the widow) was born accroding to census in 1810 in NY. I have had trouble trying to figure who Joab's parents where. Can anyone out there help? Thanks, Ramona

    3. I have been away from my computer in the evening, because I am staying down at my daughter's house at night. Her husband is staying in a whorehouse in Nevada. Should I explain that? Maybe I should. He works for a crop dusting outfit that is re-seeding the hills in Nevada that were burnt from last years wildfires. They are so far out from civilization that they have to take whatever lodging is available. There is this trailer park there with a trailer that has 7 doors on the outside that lead to bedrooms . Each bedroom has a small bathroom. They asked the lady if it was a trailer used to house deer hunters, she says, " No, it used to be a WHOREHOUSE" how utterly funny,( for me maybe, I don't know about the guys.) There is no television, no phone or radio signal, no stores, no washing machines, no place to eat except a deli that makes cold sandwiches for lunch and dinner. He came home this weekend for food, television, and more underwear and socks. Should be done over there by the end of this month. A WHOREHOUSE, I am still laughing.
