Colpitts, and granddaughter, Mary, of White River Junction, are guests of Mrs. W. E. Stewart. Townsend & Leonard local agents for the Ford automobiles, have sold 20 cars so far this season. Aldace Newton has just received a carload of 25 grade Holsteins, with calves at foot, to add to his dairy. The cattle came from different towns in the northern part of the state. The game of ball scheduled to be played on the home grounds between Manchester and the Wallingford Athletics Saturday afternoon, was postponed on account of the rain. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Angier and Miss Katherine Angier of Rutland were guests over Sunday at H. W. Congdon's. M.V.B. Stewart of Albany, N.Y., is visiting friends in town. A. G. Baker of Rutland visited in town Saturday. A number of the ninth grade pupils from East Wallingford, South Wallingford and Tinmouth, took the state examinations held here Thursday and Friday. E. L. Senif has purchased a new Apperton "Jack-rabbitt" automobile. The ball team of the grammar school defeated the Wallingford Cubs Saturday by a score of 5 to 4. LaFrancis base running for the Cubs and Hager's pitching for the grammar school were the features of the game. Batteries, Hager and W.O'Brien ; LaFrancis and Jackson , umpires, Murray and Eddy.
