    3. Source, The Ticonderoga (NY) Sentinel, Thur. Feb. 1, 1912. ORWELL, VT. Jan. 29--Miss Ruth Wilcox has so far recovered, as to resume her duties in the grammar school. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brown of Castleton, were recent guests of C. E. Walker. Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Aines of Mendon, were guests of G. C. Phelps and family Monday. An epidemic of chickenpox in the southern part of the town has caused the school in the Mather Dist. to be closed. Wm. LaFountain's youngest daughter, aged five, was taken with convulsions Monday evening and died before morning in spite of medical treatment. Guyette Bros. of the new store, are constantly adding to their stock and fixing things up to suit their convenience. The community was greatly saddened to hear of the sudden death of Joseph Duchame Friday evening. Mr. Duchame had been in his usual health and good cheer and had done a hard day's work. The summons came in the form of acute indigestion. Orwell loses not only a good shoemaker, but a good citizen. Transcribed by, Joan H.Bixby
