The 1900 Federal Census for St. Albans, VT lists him as being born Feb 1830 in Ireland. (Census dates can be off, though.) This Patrick Ward had a wife named Elizabeth, whom he married at Crown Point, NY on 18 July 1853. They moved to Vermont in 1854, and raised a family of 9 children-- 6 sons and 3 daughters. In 1868 Patrick and Elizabeth moved to St. Albans, VT, where they were still living in 1903, when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Most of their children settled in and around St. Albans, VT; but two of their sons--Charles and Peter-- moved to Connecticut, and 1 moved to Whiting, Indiana.
