The Vermont Tribune, Ludlow, Friday, August 9, 1889 Andover 8/9/1889 Mr. and Mrs. STODDARD of Chattanoong, Tenn., came Saturday; and we hear they are intending to "camp out" on the PARKHURST place. Last Saturday the city ladies all took a trip on to the top of "Burton Mountain," to get a view of our glorious mountain scenery. Tuesday, Mr. BOLSTER came over from Weston and took the city boarders to Hamilton Falls, for a day's outing. Mrs. M. A. STODDARD's house is at present well filled with guests from Rhode Island--"The Providence Sketching Club," a party of nine ladies who are sojourning for a few weeks with her. They have made several excursions, and are enthusiastic in praise of the natural beauties of the country. They have already secured several fine sketches, which will furnish abundant material for studio work during the coming winter. The club consists of Mrs. L. F. ROGERS, Mrs. B. A. PAYNE, Miss C. MACOMB, Miss L. WOLSTENHOLME, Miss A. B. CAFFREY, Miss M. E. CARPENTER, Mis M. H. McNAMARA, Miss S. W. McNAMARA, and Miss L. A. McNAMARA. Rev. H. B. TILDEN of Chester will preach at Peasville (D. V.) Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Aug. 13th and 14th, at 7:30 o'clock. All are cordially invited. Transcribed by Ruth Barton -- Ruth Barton mrgjb@sover.net Dummerston, VT
