The Vermont Tribune, Ludlow, Friday, August 9, 1889 Windsor 8/9/1889 Dr. J. D. BREWSTER has been appointed health inspector for Windsor. It is expected that the Windsor County Soldiers' Reunion will be held here August 28th. Rev. Mr. CARR of the Baptist church is away on his vacation, this month, and there will be no preaching there during his absence. The Congregational Sunday-school take their annual excursion and basket picnic to Lake Sunapee, N. H., Aug. 7th, if the day is favorable. Mrs. Henry D. STOWE died Aug. 2d, of heart disease. He had been a great sufferer, as there were months she could not lie down at all. Frank MAGUIRE, one of the work-men on the iron bridge, got too full of New Hampshire fluid, and for that and assaulting officer MULLINS, was obliged to pay $27.38 in fine and costs, besides settling with the officer for private damages.
