The Vermont Tribune, Ludlow, Friday, August 2, 1889 Woodstock 8/2/1889 A small party of young men went to Pico, fishing, Tuesday. Elton SMITH of Savannah, Ga., has rejoined his family here. Fred MERRILLS has sold the Eagle hotel and returned to his cottage on Pleasant street. The hotel is under the management of Arthur WILDER, and giving good satisfaction. A tally-ho party of 17 persons went to Norwich, last Thursday, and returned Friday. A large number of summer boarders are here. Hon. Justin F. MacKENZIE died Thursday morning of last week. His funeral was held Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large concourse of friends and citizens. Andrew W. ELLIOTT died Monday, age 83 years. He came to town with Solomon WOODWARD, in 1847.
