    2. Source, The Manchester Journal--Thur. June 12, 1947. Page 5. MANCHESTER, VT. Starting on Saturday of this week the 246th Yale University commencement will be held. Thomas P. Ineson of this village will be graduated with the degree of BS in the School of Engineering. Others from nearby communities who are being graduated include: Richard K. Miles, Jr., of Arlington; Daniel B. Risdon of Danby ; and William Francis Allen of South Shaftsbury. Mrs. Eleanor Moore Morgan, mother of Prof. Sherley W. Morgan of Princeton, N. J., and Manchester, died at her home in New York City. Mrs. Morgan was the widow of Asa Bushnell Morgan, manufacturer of cotton goods at Cincinnati, Ohio. She had been a frequent visitor to Manchester over a period of some years, Surviving , besides her son , is a daughter, Miss Helen Harrison Morgan, who lived with her mother. William E. Dailey of South Shaftsbury, engineer and contractor, who has done considerable work in this area, has recently been awarded a contract to hard- surface one and three quarters miles of highway on Route 100, extending the pavement south from Moretown towards Waitsfield. His bid of $82,851.50 is subject to concurrence by the United States Public Roads administration. The contract calls for 1.755 miles of grading and black top surfacing beginning 4.1 miles south of the Moretown-Waitsfield town line. During the past week the bulk of the members of the staff of the Equinox House, who were not already on hand, have arrived, and the hotel opened yesterday with a house filled to overflowing. Several conventions are slated for the first ten days of the season. The hotel does not officially open until June 23rd. Morton Yoder, manager for A. Rea Ball, has a head room clerk, Lloyd Eaton, who was on the desk last summer. J. Vallie has returned for another season as the chef of the house. Perley Crosby is again in charge of the dining room. James Roane, who has been coming for some 30 or more years, is again head bellman and Clyde Blackwell will be back at his usual position as doorman. Malcolm Mark and his orchestra will return next week and Mrs. Derby Brown, hostess, will also arrive on Monday. Wilburton Inn, one of Manchester's foremost hostelries, under the direction of J. W.
