    3. Friend: There is aTown Clerk of Hancock to whom you might either write or call. She might be able to provide information. There is a library in Hancock, but it might be best to make contact with the Town Clerk. The nearest historical society would be in the neighboring town of Rochester, Vermont. Hancock does have a school and has had one for years. Records for this might be found in the Town Clerk's office. Go on-line for addresses and phones. Forrest

    3. I support Forrest's idea of checking with the Town Clerk. I visited the Newport Center VT Town Clerk's Office one afternoon and found old school records. My dad, uncles and aunt went to grade school in the 30s and 40s. I found attendance records for each one of them, copied a sample and gave their respective record to them. It was fun! You never know what you might find if you just poke around with their blessing.
