BRISTOL, May 23--Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Varney Funeral parlors in Bristol for Henry Sylvester Whittemore. Rev. Loren Heaton, pastor of the Federated church officiated . The bearers were Harold Follansbee of Vergennes , Ralph O'Bryan and F. L. Kilbourn of Bristol and Fletcher Whittemore of Bloomfield, N.J. Burial was in Pittsford. Mr. Whittemore, 78, died Tuesday evening at the Mary Fletcher hospital in Burlington following a long illness. He was born in Middlebury, the son of David and Jane Robbins Whittemore. His wife, the former Josie Winch, died 30 years ago. He leaves five sisters, Mrs. Kate Whittemore of Bloomfield, N. J., Mrs. Cora White of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Dora Purdon of Burlington, Mrs. Lottie Hasseltine and Mrs. Lettie O'Bryan of Bristol, and two brothers, Vern Whittemore of New York and Clayton Whittemore of Valley Falls, N.Y.
