    3. Hi Sylvia T., A friend has the "History of Derby, VT" book that the Hay sisters wrote in which these Foster's in Derby are mentioned = Capt. H. E. Foster, (PG.162), (PG. 164 Kingsbury Foster,, Hiram Foster (nothing mentioned of children's names), (pg. 169) Austin Foster, John G. Foster     Henry E. Foster (speaks of land owned, etc.)   The Capt. Foster Hotel is now the site of the US Customs in Derby Line   William S. Foster was postmaster 1868 appt' PG. 182 Stephen Foster, son of Stephen and Mary King Foster came to Derby Line in 1828 (b. in Montpelier 1806) His son = William Foster     Austin Theophilus Foster (son of Stephen and Mary also)   John Gilman Foster - son of Austin T, Foster more info. abt. these men on pages.   There is a lengthy story abt. the John Gilman Foster family - who was born in 1859. <papagran@comcast.net> Malinda Foster in 1880 is widowed and living with my Severance g g grandparents in Derby VT In 1850 she is in Morgan with family.> Hope this helps, Jan Jordan<jnrose@webtv.net>

    3. Jan All of you on the Vermont list have been so helpful in my search to discover my heritage. I wish I had more time to devote to searching for living relatives, to date I have failed miserably in that area. Some day I hope to visit Vermont, especially the "beautiful waters" area where my great grandmother lived. Thank you especially for the recent posts on Fosters If you come across anything linking them to the Nathaniel Severance family of Derby, I would appreciate knowing.
