    3. 1880 census of Keene - Benjamin Evans, father b. Vermont, mother b. Canada. ========================= I found this notation on a tree in Ancestry.com. Since the marriage is noted here, the place of birth and father's name have probably been taken from that record which would be in the town clerks office in Brattleboro, Windham Co., VT. SEARCH NUMBER 10; 22 MAR 1975--Vital Records of Vermont- At Library of Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, 84602. Film # 6593 Part 88 & 89 - 8 MAR 1975 PRELIMINARY SEARCH. Benjamin EVANS, @ 47, 2d Marr. (laborer) RES: Keene, NH POB: Rockingham, [VT] DOM: 2 NOV 1864 FATHER: Ethan EVANS BY: Kittridge HASKINS - J.P. BRIDE: Sophia S. WYMAN RECORDED: Brattleboro [VT] ========================= There was a Peter (1) Evans who lived in Rockingham, Windham Co., . He married Ruth ___. He had sons Peter and Asher (both noted for Am Rev service as well as father) and Eli. Ethan would most likely be a grandson of Peter (1) or perhaps a great grandson. There is more information on all of these men in the History of Rockingham by Lyman Simpson Hayes, pp. 653-656. However, the names of Ethan and Benjamin do not appear there. Mentioned also with this family are Deerfield MA, Northfield MA, Hinsdale NH, Charlestown NH, and Bellows Falls VT. Benjamin lived at one time in Walpole NH. Found in History of Walpole. He is listed in Walpole on the 1850 Census. First marriage was in Chesterfield NH. I have no family connection. Hope there might be something here to help you.
