Looking for descendants with a view to confirming the line of JEHU YOUNG born June 1781 Lisbon NH (now Concord NH), I believe Jehu's wife was RUTH RICHARDSON d/o Ebenezer Richardson. I have found the following in Hamilton Child's Gazetteer regarding Jehu Young ~ JEHU YOUNG born 1781 Lisbon NH came to Jay VT in about 1825/26 and died there in 1845.... I'm not having much luck locating Jehu's 1845 death which hopefully will confirm his wife's name also. Here is a brief outline of what I believe is the scenario on this family: John Young born June 1816 NH, Diana Young born 1810 NH, Sarah B. Young born June 1822 NH and Wilbur F. Young born October 1825 Vermont are siblings and children of Jehu Young and his wife Ruth Richardson. Some further info: JOHN YOUNG born June 1816 NH married Sophia Pike and lived Jay VT, children: Stilman born March 1855 VT married 1883 to Fannie L. unknown; John jnr born 1842 died Feb 1864; Augusta born 1847 married 1866 John Young attorney at law (another Young family); Ida born May 1856 married Rev William Selden Jenne (Ida was district school teacher ~ Westfield?) DIANA YOUNG born 1810 NH married Joseph Hadlock and lived at Jay VT, child of interest; William Harrison Hadlock married Sarah Ann Howe and had a son Wilbur Y.Hadlock, the latter having a son Sherman Young who had a son Wilbur L.Young. Sarah Ann Howe is the d/o Luther Howe and Lydia Reed, this Lydia Reed is the eldest sister of my Calvin Reed who lived at Westfield VT........Calvin married Sarah B.Young (who I believe is the sister of Diana Young). SARAH B. YOUNG born June 1822 NH married Calvin Reed, lived at Westfield VT ~ Ida Young the d/o John Young and Sophia Pike is boarding in Sarah and Calvin's house in 1880 and is listed in census as "district school teacher" but Ida is also listed in the same census with her parents, John and Sophia Young, at Jay VT and also noted as a "school teacher" ~ so is Ida Young the school teacher at Westfield VT and boarding with her aunt, Sarah B.Young Reed? WILBUR F.YOUNG born October 1825 VT went to Wisconsin believe died there Oct 1900, his son also Wilbur F.Young jnr. Would really like to hear from descendants (or others) and confirm if John, Diana, Sarah and Wilbur are siblings and that their parents were JEHU YOUNG and RUTH RICHARDSON who lived at Jay VT from about 1825.
