I have a John Serens in Ontario who I know nothing about, or where he came from. In fact don't even really know if Serens is the original spelling or not. Dot My great great grandfather was Nathaniel Severance of Salem/Derby VT In my experience with the Severance family the name changes often Severance, Severens, Sevrens, Sevirns etc. there are many variances of the spelling You might want to check out The Severance genealogy by David C.
