Hi Kathy, from FRONTIER CROSSROADS: the people of Newport, Vermont, by Emily M. Nelson, Vol. 2, ©1978, pages 112-113: "KENDALL AND PRATT At this same time [1886], on November 9, L.R. Pratt was a stonemason in Newport, reporting that the season of 1886 was the best one for his work in twenty-two years, both in the amount of work and favorable weather in which to do it." If your relative was a livery man, I have more information on him from this book. In the index it states that Pratt, Lorenzo R.'s information is on page 113. He was not my ancestor.
