From: vernbett@cox.net(Vernon and Betty) Date: Tue, Oct 21, 2008, 10:49am Sylvia T.    Checking Caledonia Record around 1900 I do not find the name Nathaniel or Alversa Severance.         Numerous other first names.       I located the Lost Treasure article I had mentioned and it is basically the same story that Jan sent.  [1998 Annual "Lost Treasures Cache" by Lost Treasure Magazine]  Looking at it now I only found these names:   Major Rogers (Rogers Rangers), Lt Avery, and Lt George Campbell.    The writer here did give the following sources for his article that may have more information:  Patterson Gerard, "The St Francis Raid," American History Magazine, Jan 1970.      Taft, Louis A.
