SCOTT, 98 WESTBORO - Hazel M. (Bach) Scott, 98, of 2 Rogers Road, a former secretary and the oldest member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, died Thursday, Nov. 4, in Westboro Health Care Center. Her husband of 45 years, Philip R. Scott Sr., died in 1973. She leaves two sons, Philip R. Scott Jr. of Berlin and Alwyn C. Scott of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Sara-Jane Chambers of Westboro; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Paula D. Scott, died in 1995. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Marie (Nielsen) Bach, and moved here in 1930. She lived here 35 years and 10 years in Vermont, returning here 30 years ago. She attended Commerce High School, Worcester. Mrs. Scott was a secretary to the director of nursing at Westboro State Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She was also a past matron of the Bethany Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; past president of the Westboro Women's Club; a member of the Worcester Community Chorus; and an accomplished pianist and organist. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 John St. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are private. A collation will follow burial services at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Memorial Fund, 3 John St., Westboro, MA 01581. Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., is directing arrangements.
