    3. Paul I see you mention James Fuller can you supply any more details about him I have had some indication that a James Fuller was father to my great great grandmother Alversa Fuller Severance from Salem/Derby VT Sylvia T -----Original Message----- From: vermont-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:vermont-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of smith.p.a@comcast.net Sent: Friday, October 31, 2008 5:48 AM To: vermont@rootsweb.com Subject: [VERMONT] Ephraim FULLER It appears that I may be getting closer to finding the connection between Vermont and my second great grandfather-in-law, William Henry FULLER (1820-1899).  It seems that the family of an Ephraim FULLER might be a good candidate. Ephraim was reportedly born May 23, 1762 in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts.  He married Abigail HIGGINS in November of 1785 in Newfane, Windham, Vermont.  Abigail was born on December 21, 1765 in Newfane, Windham, Vermont.  The couple had fourteen children between 1786 and 1810.  The last four were born in Chatham (now Brownsburg-Chatham) , Argenteuil, Quebec, beginning in 1800. Ephraim died in Chatham in 1842.  Abigail then moved back to Milton, Chittenden, Vermont where she lived with one of her sons until she died in 1845. My hypothesis that William Henry's clan might have been Empire Loyalists would not fit this scenario, since Ephraim was a wounded veteran of the Revolutionary War.  Abigail was awarded his pension after moving back to Vermont. To reiterate, the 1860 and 1880 US censuses indicate that William was born in "Chatham, Lower Canada" and that his father was born in Vermont. I got really excited about James FULLER (Ephraim's third son) and Julia Dorcas REYNOLDS being the sought-after parents, but no listing of their ten children shows a William, and their first child was born in 1821.  They were married in 1819 however, so the possibility is still there.  The first nine of their known children were born in Chatham. I am afraid that all of my data is secondary, and much of it was taken from the One World Tree.  Documents related to Ephraim's  veteran's status and marriage to Abigail are recorded in "Genealogy of Thomas Fuller of Woburn ", by William Hyslop Fuller, 1919, pages130-131: After beating my head on this brick wall for so many years I now feel like I am so close to a solution that I can taste it.  If anyone o this list can help, I would surely appreciate it.
