Looking for help with this brick wall. I have Mathilda Sicard born in St. Johnsbury Vermont on July 17, 1859. According to her death certificatein Maine in 1923. Her parents were Onezime (Onesime) Sicard and Leasine Gerneth. I have not been able to confirm her birth in Vermont. Also Looking for the birth place of her parents and confirmation that I have her mother's name correct. I suspect her parents were born someplace In Quebec according to the 1910 census for Mathilda in Westbrook Maine. Lists both parents as Canadian - French. The Bennington Historical Society in Bennington, Bennington Co., VT has rolls of film on the vital stats of 1770's and beyond. (Found my ancestors 1770-1778 records.) Don't know if any of this information is on the internet yet or not, but they do have a website and will do research for you via their volunteers. May be small fee for non-members, etc., but for sure you'd have good information from a great source.
