Miss Josephine Harney of North Poultney, who was operated upon for appendicitis at Putnam hospital in Bennington, is recovering satisfactorily. Mr. and Mrs. Bryar White and their mother, Mrs. Edwin Evans of Saratoga Springs, N. Y., have been spending a few days with friends in town. Mrs. Charles Conway of Fort Ann, N.Y.,formerly of this place, is spending two weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Sherman in North Poultney. Miss Elizabeth Yellon of Cazenovia, N. Y., has been visiting her sister, Miss Helen Yellon, a student at Green Mountain college. Charles Derven of Poultney, a member of the class of 1936 at the University of Vermont, will coach one of the three plays to be given under the auspices of the Group Players at the university. The condition of Daniel Jones of South Poultney, a member of Claire Carmody post, American Legion, who underwent a serious operation last week at the Veteran's hospital in New London, Conn., is improving. Frank J. Wade and son, Franklin, jr., of New York have been recent guests of the former's sister, Miss Lillian Wade. E. Leitner of Boston is visiting his daughters, Mrs. Kenneth B.
