Page 10, Edward and Emelie (Rancourt) Brochu Edward Brochu was brn in ST Germaine, Quebec on Oct. 13, 1864. Emelie Rancourt was born in 1866 in Quebec. They were married Nov. 10, 1884 and emigrated to Hardwick, VT in 1916. They had 11 children some of whom were already grown and married. They bought a farm on Hardwick ST.. Their children also emigrated. Among their children were Gaudias Ernest, Joseph, Lydia, Lucia and Lena. Another daughter Rose-Anna Had married to Didace Ferlandin Canada the previous year. Ernest married Marie Couture. Page 56 LeCours and Dion Anselm (Sam) LeCours the son of Odilon and Anna (Tanguay)LeCours was born in St Justine, Quebec on July 4, 1904. He emigrated to Hardwick with his family in 1917. Violette Dion was born in Willimantic, Conn. on Dec 9, 1908 the daughter of Alphonse and Rose (Poirier) Dion. Later the Dion family moved to Hardwick, the so-called "District # 10" section. Anselm and Violette were married Aug. 27, 1928 at ST. Norberts Church in Hardwick, VT. For a time Aselm was the caretaker for the hardwick Country Club which was located near Routes 15 and 16 in East hardwick. They had five children while living in District 10 Mignonne, Denis, Robert, Lawrence aka (Larry) and Roger. The LeCours then moved to Wauregon, Conn. where Annette and Leo were born. IN 1941 they returned to Hardwick where Aselm took over the family farm and had six more children, Jacqueline (my classmate in high school) Diane, Paulette, Richard and the twins Daniel and Michael were born. Anselm greatly expanded the property, He bought the farm of his brother Eloi located across the Road from the Center School (a one room school house on the road to Greensboro, VT.) It goes on to name who the children married and about they're now a scattered family all over the country. Page 63 Charland Ancestors of Wilfred Charland emigrated from ST. Christopher de Chateauroux en Berry, France. Members of the family have learned that Claude Charland dit Francoeur was born about 1626. He married Jacqueline des Bordes who was born in 1637. She was the daughtwer of Pierre and Radegonde Valentin who were married in Quebec Jan 8, 1652. *** When I was in school the Charland had three boys in high school ahead of me, Ronald, Gil and Andre. Ronald now lives just up the road from me here in NH. Page 68 Paquet Layrent Demers was born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, the son of Hermenegilde and Diana (Roberge) Demers. Antoninette Paquest was born in ST Adrien, Quebec the daughter of Joseph and Leda (Gingras) Paquet.They were married at St. Noel Church in St. Adrien on Aug. 10, 1946. They emigrated to Hardwick in November of 1959. They have five children, Louiselle who married Leo Lemay, Claude who married Ginette Cloutier, Diane, Renaud who married Maureen Healey, and Lina who lives in North Dakota.
