The Vermont Journal, Windsor, Saturday, June 14, 1884 Ascutneyville News 6/14/1884 At the adjourned meeting of the Ascutney Cemetery Association, Saturday night, A. PRESTON, H. H. DAKE and W. F. NEWELL were appointed a committee to investigate and report, at the adjouned meeting, to be held June 21, at what expense the old tomb can be repaired or a new one built. Claremont chichen thieves are reforming. Fred FRENCH, and a fellow named COOK, last Saturday night paid their final visits to a large number of hen roosts in Springfield and Weathersfield, and secured quite a crop of chickens and turkeys. now they are in limbo at Claremont, wiser, if not better, men, and sorry they did not reform, instead of being reformed. The latest report is that they have paid $80 to settle Saturday night's depredations, and that the New Hampshire authorities will hold them to answer for a few tricks of the same kind in the Granite State.
