    3. The Vermont Phoenix, Brattleboro, Friday, December 31, 1909 Guilford Centre 12/31/1909 Mrs. Lena BARRETT and children were at E. W. LEGATE's from Saturday to Monday. Etta and Eva HAYNES of Brattleboro are spending several days at E. W. LEGATE's. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis LARNED visited in Athol over Chrismas, returning home Monday. Walter D. THAYER spent Chrismas with his brother, H. E. THAYER, who lives in South Deerfield, Mass. Charles F. RAMSDELL and Miss RIETTE went Monday to New York city for a few days' vacation. Mrs. Minnie CLARK and son Merton, attended the funeral of Warren NILES in West Halifax Saturday. Miss Nellie MINER returned home Saturday from her visit as a guest of Miss Ida BARRETT in Centerville. Mrs. C. P. POTTER went Monday to Springfield, Mass., to spend the winter with her son Chares POTTER. Mrs. L. D. FRANKLIN and son, Floyd, visited her parents in Springfield, Mass., over Christmas, returning Monday. Mr. and Ms. Elmer GOODNOW and daughter visited Mrs. GOODNOW's parents in Dummerston the first of the week. Mrs. Grace WHITTEMORE and little son, Morse, of South Royalston, Mass., are visiting Mrs. WHITTEMORE's brothers, B. A. and James WHITTEMORE. The many friends of Mrs. H. T. WAITE will be sorry to learn that it was necessary for her to undergo a second operation Tuesday. She is resting comfortably at this writing. We experienced the first real blizzard of the season Saturday night and Sunday. Althoughthere was a high wind most of the day Sunday the roads were not badly drifted about here, but the Jacksonville stage did not reach Guilford Centre until about noon, three hours late. Enough snow fell to make fine sleighing. At the regualr meeting of Broad Brook Grange Tuesday evening these officers were elected: Master, Lyman J. HUNTLEY; overseer,Roy C. INGRAHAM; lecturer, Mrs. Lula M. WELLMAN; steward, James L. C. WHITTEMORE; A. S., Louis QUINN; chaplin, Josie JAQUETH; treasurer, -- M. BULLOCK, secretary, Mary E. BULLOCK; gatekeeper, Earl W. JAQUETH; Ceres, S. Alice THOMAS; Pomona, Idelia M. HUNTLEY; Flora, Ella A. BAKER; L. A. S., A. Maud CLARK; The officers will be installed by General Deputy H. W.
