The Vermont Phoenix, Brattleboro, Friday , January 16, 1891 Dummerston news The members of the circulating and the agricultural library have been notified to meet at the shop of the late Winslow DUTTON on Monday, January 19, at 7 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of uniting the two libraries into one and choosing the necessary officers. Volume five of the Vermont Historical Gazetteer, or magazine, containing the history of the towns of Windham county, will be published as soon as the necessary revision of the pamphlet histories of the towns already printed can be made and portions reprinted. The history of Dummerston receives the following commendation from Chicago by a resident of that city who has read the printed sheets of the forth-coming history of the county: "Don't expect that all the towns of Windham county will be as well written up as Dummerston; if you do you will be sadly disappointed." Copies of the town edition are still in demand, and a copy was sent recently to a lady living in the central part of New York. Donors of portraits for the town history can have the chance to furnish portraits for the county volume. The Christian Endeavor society will have a social in the vestry of the Congregational church Tuesday evening, January 27, to which all are cordially invited.
