J. F.. WASHBURNE, who has been very ill with diphtheria, is reported as slowly on the gain. C. W. LAMERE, who has been taking a vacation among relatives in Ludlow, has resumed work in the meat market for another year. There cam near being a serious accident at W. C. MARIETTA's a few evenings ago. As Mrs. MARIETTA was passing a table the lamp was hit with her shawl and fell to the floor. Her clothes took fire buat were extinguished by Mr. MARIETTA , who was eatting his supper at the time. Mrs. H. C. WARREN is at Dr. FOSTER's assisting in the care of her father, who is quite ill. The Putney Library association will hold a meeting at its room next Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. G. H. WALDER is in Boston making a two weeks' visit among friends. The STOWELL Manufacturing companyhas builat a new store-house and is making preparations for a large increase in business next season.
