Does anyone have a clue as to a possible epidemic in Vermont (effecting the Stowe area) that would have occurred around 1874-1879? There are some people (Whitney family) who had these deaths: (Emily and Silsby Whitney were siblings.) - Emily Whitney (wife of Orlo Towne), died at Stowe in 1874. - Silsby Whitney and his wife, Mary (Knapp) Whitney both died in May and March 1879, respectively.  I found their children (Minnie and Henry) living with another family in 1880. I don't have death records on these individuals to see if they list the cause of the death. I know there were a lot of epidemics and sicknesses/diseases in these early times, but I'm not familiar with what diseases were most prevalent during this particular time period Thanks!
