The soapstone mill has not been running much lately owing to the want of water. The rain Sunday and Monday raised the river so the ice crashed into the bridge at the west end of the village, taking it off Monday forenoon. it is very unfortunate for the teamsters and traveling public, as it was on the main road to Bellows Falls from Athens, Grafton and Townshend.
