    2. Source, The Orwell Citizen & Tribune-- Thur. Feb. 15, 1940. Page 1. NEW HAVEN, VT. P.T.A. and B.A. Notes. Schools reopened Monday, Feb. 12, after being closed for two weeks. Miss Helen Seeley has charge of the hot lunches for the present. The February P.T.A. meeting was held Tuesday evening. After the regular business a program "Following the Founders" was given by Mrs. R. P. Sherman, program chairman. This is the 43rd anniversary of the founding of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers. There was a movie on the life of Theodore Roosevelt. Refreshments were served by the social committee, Mrs. Kate Palmer, Mrs. Alice Landon and Mrs. Mary Trudo. Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Quinlan visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barnard and family in Jericho Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Langeway and family of Ferrisburg and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Purinton of Bristol were Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Larrow. Miss Bernice Merrill of Burlington spent Monday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Merrill. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Pidgeon entertained the Town Hill Club on Wednesday evening. Miss Leona Warren, Home Demonstration Agent, was a caller in town on Tuesday. Mrs. Beulah Fiske and Mrs. M. H. Landon attended O.E.S. meeting in Bristol on Tuesday evening. The Ladies Union held their February meeting on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Helene Merrill, Mrs. Doris Potter, and Mrs. Beulah Fiske hostesses. The Lanesboro Club will meet on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 21 with Mrs. Inez Larrow. The subject of the meeting is Old Glass,Shampooing Furniture and Cleaning Rugs will be discussed by Miss Chaffee. The roll call will be answered by Housecleaning Helps. Mrs. Lula Langdon will be hostess to the Two O'clock Bridge club on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 22. Mr. and Mrs. George Holden were Burlington visitors on Tuesday. The Town Basket Ball team won from Orwell team on Tuesday evening at the New Haven town all. Frank Gill and son, Edward, attended the funeral of Hector Cousino, Sr., in Bristol on Wednesday morning. Dr. and Mrs. Geo. Eddy of Burlington visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Merrill recently. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Vwiebel (sic) and son of Torrington, Conn., were week end visitors at the home of Roy Potter. Transcribed by, Joan H.
