    2. Source, Rutland Daily Herald--June 20, 1888. PITTSFORD, VT. Delegates have been elected to the approaching conventions as follows : County--R. C. Smith, D. F. Holden, E. D. Hinds; state, F. C. Dennison, H. G. Peabody, S. K. Burbank, W. B. Saaw(sic); district--S. D. Winslow, George D. Wheaton , C. S. Colburn , E. F. Jackson; town committee for two years--H. G. Peabody, A. D. Tiffany, George D. Wheaton. Children's day was observed at the Congregational church last Sunday. The floral decorations were very fine. Rev. C. C. McIntire thanked the Young Ladies' Missionary Society in behalf of the church for placing a bible containing both old new versions on the pulpit. A Democratic club was organized here on Saturday with the following named officers: C. B. Rand, president; W.H. Mooney, vice-president; Charles N. Hart, secretary; Andrew Riley, treasurer; delegates to Baltimore, W. P. Hall, T. J. Hennessy and A. E. Riley. Mrs. J. C. Fenton, who has been passing a few weeks in Rutland with her daughter, died of heart disease on Tuesday morning. the funeral will be held here today, at M.E. church at 1 p.m. Henry Landers and Fred Hart caught a pickerel last Saturday at Hortonsville that weighed 14 pounds.
